The System of Share of Donations Assembly Hall

The system of donations varied among high ranking monks in the past. Following are according to the document passed in 1947; forty shares for the Dalai Lama's throne (this goes to the master of the Holy House); seven shares for the Chairman of Ganden; five shares for the retired Abbots; six shares for the present two disciplinarians; six shares for the Hothogth Lamas; four shares for the high ranking Lamas; three shares for the middle ranking Lamas; two shares for the Abbot of Phabongkha hermitage; five shares for the disciplinarians and the masters of the holy rooms; five shares for the prayer leaders of the Assembly Hall; twenty-one shares for the two financial managers; three shares for the tea manager; three shares for the firewood manager; eight shares for the two assembly hall care-takers; and two shares for the spiritualist. Other monks of the hermitages and monks of the junior positions one share each according to the document, though they be absent to the assembly.
