2005 Shoton Festival kicks off

2005 Shoton Festival kicks off on August 4 with a theme of "Celebrate Shoton and Greet 40th Birthday of Tibet" as part of celebration for the coming 40th anniversary of the foundation of China's Tibet Autonomous Region.

From August 4 to 7, Lhasa citizens will take a holiday to enjoy the traditonal Shoton Festival by wathcing Tibetan opera performances at every parks such as Dragon King Pool Park and attending Buddhism activities. From August 24 to 27, a large-scale trade fair will be held in Lhasa for bussinessmen from all over China. As scheduled, over 200 enterprises will take part in the product-exhibiting from August 25 to 30 at Zhonghe International City in Lhasa. [Full text]
