Over the past 25 years of development, tourism in Tibet has formed a comprehensive system combining sightseeing, mountaineering, scientific research and holidaymaking.

The government will enlarge the investment in building up more tourist facilities in a bid to follow the opening-up drive. Tourist network integrating bordering provinces like Sichuan, Yunnan, Chongqing, Shannxi and neighboring countries like Nepal and India, will be initiated to help boosting the Tibet tourism.
