It is reported that a test for terminal function and compatibility of GSM-R along Golmud and Budongquan section of Qinghai-Tibet railway was under processing in recent days.

GSM-R communication system was used in the construction of Qinghai-Tibet railway and this is the first time for GSM-R using in the construction of railway in Asia. It is reported that with all the functions GSM system has, GSM-R is more suitable for wireless communication in railway. GSM-R system can afford the communication of China Mobile as the train is at a speed of 300 km per hour. Besides£¬with GSM-R system, one can also be connected with in blank areas. According to China Railway Electrification Company who is in charge of the experimental project of GSM-R, the whole test will be finished till November 25th.
