This public welfare concert was aimed at collecting money for the "Hope Star of Tibet" project. The concert was held for the 15th anniversary of the establishment of national Project Hope as well as the fruitful results of 12 years' implementation of Project Hope in Tibet. In order to thank those people who pay their attention to Tibetan Project Hope and draw more and more fund for the needy students, Tibet set up the "Scholarship Foundation of Hope Star of Tibet".

Since the implementation of Project Hope in Tibet in 1992, there are 78 million RMB donated by the people home and abroad. There are 180 elementary schools open up for more than 20 thousand children who were dropped out halfway. Under this project, 310 elementary teachers have received free training and 300 needy students got financial help. Up to now, Tibet has formed a systematic Project Hope system.
