visitors are queuing up to buy tickets for the entry
Recently, the Management Office of the Potala Palace has imposed restrictions on the number of visitors and pilgrims entering the palace, for the purpose of protecting this world-famous ancient building. In accordance with the new rules, the palace opens for six and a half hours and receives no more than 850 visitors a day. The 1,300-year-old palace, regarded as the most typical Tibetan scenic spot, receives more than 500,000 visitors annually, averaging 1,500 daily.
